This page celebrates the participants, finalists and the winner of the Inspiring Science Award, 2018. We received 150 entries. An eminent jury picked 6 finalists, and eventually, the winner. The finalists were announced at the Cell Press-TNQ India Distinguished Lectureship Series, in January 2018. The winner, Nishan Shettigar from InStem, was announced by Dr. Emilie Marcus, CEO, Cell Press and Editor-in-Chief, Cell, at the Bengaluru lecture on January 27, 2018.

“I feel extremely grateful and overwhelmed upon qualifying as a finalist for the 2018 Inspiring Science Award. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Cell Press-TNQ India Team and the jury members for recognizing our research. Our work reveals a novel inflammatory mechanism that regulates trafficking of immune cells into lymph nodes that have implications in autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. Recognition of this work gives me a sense of accomplishment and motivation to carry on the good science in the future. I would also like to share a part of the credit with my mentor Dr. Soumen Basak for his support and guidance.
