A Commitment Beyond Business
TNQ considers it to be a privilege to be able to participate in and contribute to society - whether it be in relief work as in the case of the aftermath of a natural or manmade calamity, or in day-to-day activity, especially in programmes that, involve children and women.

When tsunami struck on December 26, 2004, TNQ intervened to put fishing villages near Chennai back on track, distributing nets and boats. Every employee of TNQ contributed. The company contributed a multiple of the collection.

All of Tamil Nadu, India, was inundated in November-December 2005, leading to loss of life, livelihood and property. TNQ intervened in a village about 60 km north-north west of Chennai, near the industrial town of Gummidipoondi and helped set up an embroidery unit that provides livelihood support to around 50 families in the village.

On an ongoing basis, TNQ works with Karunaii Trust, a Chennai-based not-for-profit organisation that works with children with disabilities. The children participate in many of TNQ's programmes, including in the TNQ Day which in our records is Karunaii Children's Day.

TNQ gives scholarships for pursuing studies in the fields of journalism and the performing arts.
