avid Baltimore delivered his concluding lecture in the Cell Press-TNQ Lecture Series, addressing an audience of over 700 people in a packed, spilling auditorium at the Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai.
The lecture series is going to be an annual event, it has been decided. But Baltimore will be a tough act to follow.
"I have had a busy but quite a wonderful week (in India) which finishes up this evening. It has been, although hectic, extremely rewarding to see all that's going on in India, particularly to see the size of the audiences that have turned out. I don't take that so much as a personal honour, but rather as an honour to the understanding of the power of science and the desire on the part of particularly the young people, the young students, to participate in the great excitement of discovery that is ahead for anybody trained well in science."
